1/2 onion
1 tsp sesame seeds

Korean cuisine 2 – Buchu Jeon, Korean style pancake

 

In Korea, we have enjoyed Jeon as pancakes from long time ago. This is one of the most popular food for family dinner or festival foods. There are tons of different style of Jeon in South Korea. Today we are going to learn how to cook Buchu Jeon.

Buchu (Chives) is believed as one of the powerful food for Men’s stamina in South Korea based on eastern medical science and Allison (a nutrition in Chives). So, when you (man) don’t have enough power for a night or when your husband don’t have enough energy for you, try to cook this and eat these foods for long time. You or your husband might be different someday at night.

5 oz Buchu, Garlic Chive 부추
1½ cups Buchimgaru (Korean Pancake Powder) 부침가루 (can use flour or sweet rice flour)
1½ cups Water 물
¼ tsp Salt 소금
1 Red Chili Pepper 붉은 고추 (optional, add more for more red color)
1 Green Chili Pepper 풋고추 (optional, add more for spiciness)
¼ cup Vegetable Oil 식용유

1. Prepare vegetables

Wash 150g of buhcu (garlic chives) thoroughly under running water. Cut them into 2” (4 cm) long pieces. Wash 1-2 red chili pepper and 1-2 green chili pepper. Then, julienne them (cut into thin strips).

  • garlic chives into 2” (4 cm) long

2. Pancake Mix

In a large bowl, mix 1½ cup of buchimgaru (Korean pancake powder), 1½ cup of cold water, and ¼ teaspoon of salt thoroughly. Using ice cold water gives a nice elastic texture (optional).

3. Add vegetables

Add cut garlic chives and red and green chili peppers into the pancake mix. Mix gently.

4. Cook

Coat a non-stick pan with 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil. Preheat on high heat for a minute. Pour about ⅓ cup of the pancake batter with vegetables in the pan. You can pour more or less batter depending on your preferred pancake size. Spread vegetables out evenly to make a thin layer. Cook until the bottom is golden brown.

5. Flip

Flip the pancake with a spatula. When the bottom is golden brown and adjust heat to the lowest. Continue to flip until the batter is fully cooked.

6. Make dipping sauce

In a small bowl, mix 2 tablespoons of soy sauce, 2 tablespoons of vinegar, 2 tablespoons of water, 1 teaspoon of minced garlic (optional) and sliced red/green chili peppers (optional).

  • 2 tbs soy sauce

7. Serve

Serve pancakes on a plate with a dipping sauce on the side. You can serve the pancake as a whole or cut with scissors into two bite-sized squares.

Nowadays lots of couple are having trouble with their night work. Some of them are even having some serious problem, and because of the problem, they divorce. This is not one side problem.

These kinds of illness is hard to be cured in hospital because it is hard to find exact factors of those kinds of illness. Especially for men, the factors are really a lot and various.  So, even though lots of people go to hospital, they usually fail to cure the problem.

But, There is a direct way to cure the problem for both of men and women. For someone, this might didn’t work, but usually Lots of people have had much better life at night after this is done. I am not saying my story.  At least, now I am the one of the greatest worker for our family. Especially for my wife. Anyway, IT IS REALLY WORK.

So What is the way to cure the problem? The best way is to work out. If you guys do workout for your hips, thigh, lower back, and abs, you will be a normal person. Furthermore, if you make great muscle there, you will become hero of the night and save the world of the night.

30/30 – 30 seconds active and 30 seconds rest for a fixed time – 5-10 minutes for beginners.

30/30 where rest now becomes active and can range from mobility to star jumps and burpees.

60/30 a 2:1 ratio promoting fatigue resistance and a greater VO2 demand

Alternate swings – changing hands every 30 – 60 seconds for a fixed time

Byung hun lee is famous movie star in South Korea. He also took some movies in holly woods. Famous movies are Red, G.I. Joe and terminator. The Hollywood is totally different concept to South Korean from other Movie industries. It is final dream of Korean actors. Only few Korean actors could get in the Hollywood. So, How did he get in Holly woods? What makes him to appeal to Hollywood?

In my opinion, even though he is an good actor, he might couldn’t get in Hollywood if he didn’t have the body figure. I believe that his body shape also took big part of it.

In South Korea, Lots of Korean guys choose Byung hun’s body as one of the best body shape. Also, lots of women love it.

Now, let’s learn what kinds of diet and workout he did.

Korean cuisine 1 – Siguemchi Muchim. (spinach salad)

Today, lets learn how to cook Siguemchi Muchim. This is one of Korean style herb (we can use this for Girls generation plan that is in diet 4 ). Korean cuisine usually don’t have standard receipe So, I brought this recipe from famous Korean cook who is maangchi. Spinach-590x392

Spinach is really good food for health and diet. research said that spinach contain high level of chlorophyll and health promoting carotenoids (beta carotene, lutein and zeaxanthin). these phyto chemicals have anti-inflammatory and anti-cancerous properties and are especially important for healthy eye-sight, helping to prevent macular degeneration and cataracts.

A 100g serving provide: 23 calories, 3g protein, 0g fat, 4g Carbohydrates, 2g fiber and ZERO FAT

  1. In boiling water, add 1 ts of salt and blanch a bunch of spinach for 30 seconds after removing dead the leaves and roots.

  2. Drain the cooked spinach and rinse it in cold water 3 times, and squeeze it gently to get the water out.
  3. Cut the spinach a few times and set it aside.
  4. Place 2 cloves of minced garlic, 1 chopped green onion, 1.5 tbs of soy sauce and ½ tbs sesame oil in a large bowl and mix them all up with a spoon.
  5. Place the spinach into the sauce and mix by hand.
  6. Transfer the spinach onto a serving plate and sprinkle ½ tbs of toasted sesame seeds.

If you see the Korean drama, movie or a music videos, you easily can distinguish that their style of body shape (preference of body shape) is totally different. Korean stars are usually much more slim than American stars (I know that Americans prefer healthy body shape than slim style. I also prefer American’s body shape).

This is the fastest way to lose weight without getting diseases. But Don’t do that for long time. These are short-term diet plan to lose weight quickly except for Girls generation plan. After you lost some weight in 1 month, Find other diet plan like Zone diet, and girls generation diet.

Diet 3 – Korean diet (United states obesity rate compared to Other countires)

In the world, United states have highest obesity rate.

Someone might think that it is because United states have best economy in the world, so People could have better and more foods in United states than other countries.

But actually it is not. It might be true if it is compared to Africa.

We can easily find the reason why obesity rate is so different between western countries and Asian countries.

Korean and Japanese usually do not eat fat. They eat more vegetables than United states.  If you follow Korean or Japanese diet, you will easily lose your weight. Furthermore, if you follow Korean idol’s weight loss programs, it will be the fastest way to lose your weight even though you might lose your booty.

More studies suggest Weight Watchers is effective, But may not be much more so than other similar diets.

Will you lose weight?

What limited research there is on Zone suggests it’s moderately effective for weight loss. But the 40:30:30 carb/protein/fat ratios is no magic bullet, and in fact, scientific evidence casts doubt on its efficacy.

  • A 2007 study published in the Journal of the American Medical Association divided about 300 overweight or obese women into groups and assigned them to one of four types of diets: low-carb (Atkins), low-fat (Ornish), low saturated-fat/moderate-carb (LEARN), and roughly equal parts protein, fat, and carb (Zone). At two months, Zone dieters had lost about 6 pounds, the same as those in the other groups – except for the Atkins group, which lost 9½ pounds. After a year, weight loss for the Zone group averaged about 3.5 pounds – less than what other groups lost. The Atkins group lost 10 pounds compared to 6 for the LEARN group and 5 for the Ornish group.
  • In another study of 160 people assigned to either Zone, Atkins, Weight Watchers, or the Ornish diet, weight loss was modest for all groups, according to findings published in the Journal of the American Medical Association in 2005. After one year, the Zone dieters had lost an average of 7 pounds, compared with 7.3 for the Ornish group, 6.6 for Weight Watchers, and 4.6 for Atkins, and fewer Zone (and Weight Watchers) dieters had dropped out (about 35 percent) than Atkins and Ornish dieters (about 50 percent). About 25 percent of dieters in all groups had lost more than 5 percent of their initial body weight, and 10 percent had lost more than 10 percent of their starting weight. That’s important because if you’re overweight, losing just 5 to 10 percent of your current weight can help stave off some diseases. Also worth noting: The Zone dieters were shown to have the greatest reduction in lowering inflammation.
  • A review of the Zone diet published in 2003 in the Journal of the American College of Nutrition concluded that scientific evidence “casts strong doubt” on its health claims and theory. Weight loss on the plan is explained by restricting calories, not the 40:30:30 ratios, the researchers said. In fact, there are “scientific contradictions,” because following such a ratio does not promote fat-burning or weight loss more than any other nutritionally-sound diet does. The ratio could even cause insulin levels to spike, an outcome the diet aims to avoid, according to the report.
  • In a study published in November 2014 in Circulation: Cardiovascular Quality and Outcomes,researchers analyzed existing research on Atkins, South Beach, Weight Watchers and the Zone diets to find out which was most effective. Their findings suggested that none of the four diet plans led to significant weight loss, and none was starkly better than the others when it came to keeping weight off for a year or more. Each of the four plans helped dieters shed about the same number of pounds in the short term: around 5 percent of their starting body weight. After two years, however, some of the lost weight was regained by those on the Atkins or Weight Watchers plans. Summary

Zone diet was really effect to have the greatest reduction in lowering inflammation, but there were other reports that shows bad results of Zone diet for losing weight. One negative report says that Zone diet is much more less effective to lose weight than other diet compared to Atkins, Ornish, and LEARN even though it helps to lose weight. Also insulin was spiking more than other diets.
